2 Workers but getting Charged

I had 2 GPU workers running and it was free. Then i added CPU only rig and i started to get charge me $0.22.
After removing the CPU worker, I’m still getting charged $0.2 a day for both the GPU rigs and have no way to changing back to free version. Please help

Theres a delay after enabling paid features, it should tell you when you are able to turn it off again. This is to keep people from enabling it, using paid features without being charged, then flipping back.

Yesterday the same thing happened to me. I didn’t turn on the paid features nor had I an intention to do so. I just played with HiveOS and ran the third rig just from curiosity two days ago. Yesterday I figured out that I was billed $0.05 a day. I turned off the third rig immediately but today I was charged another $0.03. The possibility to turn off paid features will be enabled after 11 hours from now.

In my opinion, this behavior is unfair and quite hostile. Nobody asked me whether I want to turn on paid features, they turned on automatically. On the other hand, for turning them off I must do a deliberate action which is not allowed sooner than two days?

I think the fair behavior would be either not to allow third rig to be created or to reject running more than two rigs (or whatever conditions surpassing the free tier) unless I manually turn on the paid features, with decent warning about consequences.

I’m not going to pay the fee charged. Where can I dispute the charged fee?

You were trying to run 3 rigs on the free tier which allows only up tp 2, and you expect to not be charged?

Running more than 2 workers will enable paid features as youre no longer eligible for the free tier. The toggle delay is so people can’t just enable paid features, use them, and toggle back without paying.

@keaton_hiveon I expect to be stopped when I try to use a feature that is paid … or at least to be warned and asked for my confirmation to enter the paid mode.

Please understand me correctly. It’s okay that you charge people for your product - if people decide to pay for it. What I’m saying is that entering the paid mode should be a deliberate step. Users should be either warned that their step will toggle on the paid tier, or they should not be able to finish the action requiring a paid feature (like adding 3rd worker) unless they turn on the paid features.

I wasn’t notified anywhere that my step will mean you start to charge me. That’s what i consider to be unfair business practice.

Please read carefully your own text (https://hiveon.com/knowledge-base/faq/billing_in_hiveon_os/billing/):

Owners of free accounts can use up to 4 workers …

(you charged me for 3 workers … maybe your documentation is outdated?)

And in your official forum post (https://hiveon.com/forum/t/billing/6916):

Paid features
There is a button on the billing page that you can use to activate paid features. …

(but I didn’t press any button or toggle to enable paid features …)

It does seem that the first page you sent didn’t get updated when our pricing changed to the per gpu pricing last year, ill make sure it gets updated. I will also forward your feedback on the free tier → paid tier change. We don’t try to have any gotchas, that’s why the main pricing page shows up to 2 workers for free and a breakdown of the charges with more than 2 workers, though i do apologize for the out of date “billing explained” article.
