HI, new to mining got and Octominer x12 got it set up as a worker attempting to mine ETC but how do I confirm, I don’t see a hash rate. Please help
Can you post some details of your setup and of your flight sheet?
If using old amd cards you may need to run Oder drivers as the new ones dont work well with them.
If this is your issue, go to the shell and run hive-replace --list
, then choose the image with 5.15 #110 kernel, wait for it to reboot on its own.
If running other cards just let me know your setup and i can advise from there.
did you try what i mentioned above?
Does the flight sheet look correct?
No I haven’t tried that yet been at work all day unfortunately lol but it will give that a try I hoping to be able to tonight
i believe so yeah, fwiw i would use teamredminer as it seems to be best for most amd algos it supports, but bzminer should work as well.
Ok thank you
Ok I’m trying to make the corrections you suggested, but I’m having trouble understanding.
“go to the shell and run hive-replace --list, then choose the image with 5.15 #110 kernel, wait for it to reboot on its own.”
Are you saying download a new image?
I’m not seeing that as an option.
i meant from the rig itself, either locally or remotely.
but if you’d rather flash from a pc that works too, the image you want is the one ending in 230512 in that list
Ok so I got the new image flashed and everything installed. Still not getting anything.
This is what I’m seeing .
Yeah running the older cards complicates some things, id recommend just using teamredminer, however if you do want to use bz you can update glibc if you run the commands in this post: Upgrade to ubuntu 22 or 23 - #12 by keaton_hiveon
Though i think some of the newer bzminer versions may require Ubuntu 20.xx+, in that case I believe the 6.10 #35 beta will work too, you can flash via hive-replace --list
and pick the matching number from the list if thats what you want to do
Looks like I’m getting a LA - load average fault. Could this be what’s causing the issue?
Pic attached
Ok I switched mining pools to redminer. Currently waiting to see what happens.
I wouldnt worry about load average unless it continually got higher and higher
looks like your worker is offline
when it is online, you can see what the miner is doing by going to the miner actions pickaxe in the menu, and clicking miner log.
alternatively in the shell (web shell/remote shell/local with a keyboard and monitor) you can run motd watch
and it will show you what the miner is doing in real time and gpu stats etc at the top, or just for the miner you can type miner
First off I would like to thank you for your help. I am definitely a novice when it comes to mining.
Since we last spoke, I been trying a couple of things . Basically now I’m having trouble my GPUs are running hot and shutting off after and 1.5 - 2 min of mining. What do you think the cause of this is?
Looks like you are running some or most of them at stock settings, so they are pulling more power than needed. The goal is to fine tune the clocks and voltages to get the performance and power draw you are happy with. Make sure there is proper airflow as well
I have confirmed airflow is good fans are working amazing. Is there a place i can go to look for clock settings. I thought that was probably the problem.
Also isn’t there a way for hiveos the reboot the rig. Cause it completely shuts off the rig.
