if its crashing then some are recoverable and some are not, you can use the watchdogs (hashrate, temp or LA) to try to reboot before theres a hang that isnt recoverable.
you can look at hashrate.no, but they should be fine tunes instead of just using someone elses for best results. if things are running hot, start with low clocks, then find as low vdd voltage as is stable, then work your way up one card at a time
