ZEC/Zcash Mining

Hello,

I want to find out why no miner will work when setting up to GPU mine Zec/Zcash, i have tried all the miners it gives when selecting the pool of choice and nothing runs. I don’t check what messages come up when it starts. i know one miner keeps repeating it needs a cooldown first but let it run for a little while with nothing happening. please any advice/help in this matter would be awesome. oh i am using nvidia GPU’s.

Thank you.

Can you post a screenshot of your workers overview tab, along with one of your flight sheets?

I will get one taken and sent, sorry for the delay I’ve been busy

Here’s the flight sheets, I’m still trying to figure out the one to use ViaBTC. The overview I have them shutdown right now.

it looks like all the current miners no longer fully support it as it is an asic dominated algo now. if you do want to mine it i would look into getting a antminer z11 or similar, they are about 100x the hashrate of a modern gpu.

That didn’t answer my question to my problem really besides telling me to invest in something rather expensive, when I already have the gpus and want to mine something else. All I want to know is what would I need to do to setup my rig to mine ZEC. Thank you.

You could consider reaching out to some miner developers to see if they’d be open to updating their software to support this, even though it may not be profitable for them at the moment. If they’re willing, you’d be able to use their miner for your needs.

In the meantime, if you’re set on mining ZEC, another option might be to sell one or two of your GPUs and use those funds to pick up a ZEC ASIC. That would give you performance equivalent to dozens—or even hundreds—of GPUs, and might be a more efficient path.

It’s similar to why people don’t mine BTC or LTC with CPUs or GPUs anymore: ASICs have made such a huge leap in efficiency that it’s tough to compete without one.
