Vega 56 and Vega 64 guide

yes, the best way is start OCin without straps and finding a stable setup.

Aaah I see, will try a few things then, thanks for the reply

Maybe a weird question, but how can I ‘undo’ the straps or ‘remove’ the straps which I had?

restart. it wipes the straps

i just ordered a bunch of 40x40mm aluminum heatsinks of aliexpress and will be testing lowering the temperature of the cards with em. 36 heatsinks with heat conducting tape cost me 23 USD. The idea is to find the position of the memory on the board and add the heatsinks from the plate side in order to get a few C down. I think it will help during the summer months and its cheap

Testing your straps with 975 memory.
Running at 54.26mhs now.
I was using other straps as someone said that hynix memory is a no go with RCDR below 14.
Ill keep you updated, thanks

If you have problems, first go back to RC 36 and CL 20. Then lower slowly

My Hynix run on rcdr 13. no problem but they run on max 950 mem. 960 already crashes… it just depends on the cards and where they have been manufactered. vienamese cards are the worst  hahahaha

Sooo… after tinkering with the oc setting to the previous stable numbers… it suddenly won’t recognize the Vega 56… I am at a loss, I tried restarting it like more than 30 times, different slots, different risers… any help?

I can’t see the card anywhere, it says: GPU driver error, no temps

try using the switch on the GPU to change the bios

Thank you, at least it recognizes it, but I am getting this, I tried flashing it with the bios I had downloaded through hive, but it said rom flash with error

I am also having trouble. Teamredminer will not start if I have my Vega plugged in. It is a mixed rig though. When it gets to initializing the gpu it just freezes

never has something happen to me. Sometimes some GPUs dont initialize, but that gets fixed by a few restarts

delete straps in nano user sh if you setted straps there. if not and all clocks reseted and still doesnt work, change riser. 1 out of 3 doesnnt work, or stops working soon

same for you  reset all straps in nano user sh if you have. and if not change riser and make hardcore reboot. switch off machine maually. wait and switch back on and let it boot. sometimes can take 1:45 / 2:15 minutes

Can you help me understand this values in order to make my own tests in my card? What should I modify if it’s not stable for me?
I’m searching for information but I can’t find anything.

what happens? Have you first got a stable OC setup? Made your rig run for 24h without applying straps?

Yes I do have a very stable OC. I have an Asus RX Vega 54 with Hynix memories. OC: 1075/850/940.
I tried with this strap and works well and stable but I get only 49.7 MH/s:

–cl 18 --ras 23 --rcdrd 15 --rcdwr 4 --rc 34 --rp 13 --rrds 3 --rrdl 4 --rtp 6 --faw 12 --cwl 7 --wtrs 4 --wtrl 4 --wr 11 --REF 17000 --rfc 148

I tried your last strap for Hynix memories and I get almost 53MH/s but it shows rejected shares. I want to find the sweet spot for my card.

I had 2 rejecteds in 1 day, not much but i went cl 20 rc 36 like you said. If its stable should i lower both to 19 and 35?
