Variable power consumption for solar mining

Hi, is it possible to vary the power consumption of an ASIC rig for solar mining without shutting the rig down (as most mining pools do not favor this)?

Would like to ramp up the hash rate when excess power is available and ramp it down when running on battery power effectively going into a very low power mode. Having it fully variable would be ideal to accommodate cloudy days.

What asic and what firmware?

I’m still in the planing phase, so do not have an ASIC rig yet, would like to mine BTC. But first need to check what is possible before I start investing in equipment.

yeah its possible as long as the firmware/device supports multiple power profiles and is supported by either Hiveon FW or ASIC Hub(on stock FW)
