Problematic miner

Think one of the miners is misbehaving. I don’t have any card dual mining with 2 different miners. The result of nvidia-smi should only show 1 miner on each card

Is there a way to get bzminer not populate every card, even when not mining on that card?

You should be able to specify specific GPUs using the command in the miner config in the flight sheet. Should read the options for the miner you are using:

bz is a bit different. You don’t specify the gpus you want to use, but rather those you don’t want to use with the option disable

bz isn’t really running on all the cards, but has a process spawned in each card. In the listing above, bz is only running on card 2

Sounds like a bz dev question. Guess I am getting spoiled seeing a few of the other devs daily in discord.

thanks. I posted in hive, since I wasn’t sure if the issue was in the way that bz is launched?

With BzMiner you can use:
“disable”: “0 1 2”
to disable gpus 0 to 2 for example.

Then you can also add:
“hide_disabled_devices”: true

so that Bz doesnt list them.

this was from nvidia-smi. The previous versions of bz would populate all the gpus with a process. Seems the new beta fixes that, and bz only runs on the cards which you want

On bz to use the disable command you need to give the actuall address, and not the gpu number. Hive offers an easier option to use the gpu number

"disable": "[5:0 7:0 8:0 9:0 11:0 17:0]"'
