Please help me! my rig wont post with 5 GPU

so i have 5 gpu 2 3060, 2 1070Ti and a 1070

AT first i couldnt get the two 3060 to run at same time. on post i would get a fuzzy screen and get no where… as soon as i unplugged and completely disconnected a 3060 it posted and worked fine… i then tried different risers… different usb cables and tested all the pcie slots… problem was the same if i tried to use all 5 cards… as soon i unplugged one of the 1070 and put that power cable into one of the 3060 it posted fine… do you guys think my 850 watt power supply is not sufficient for the 5 cards and is causing that issue? or do you guys think there is something funky going on with trying to use 5 pcie slots at the same time? i have a Z390-P 300 series motherboard … like maybe im only able to use 4 PCI lanes even though it has 6? thanks for your help!

*** MORE INFO - for sure looking like a motherboard issue or restriction… i removed ONLY the pci riser usb to the 5th card and she powered on and posted fine… so i dont think its a power issue… anyone else run into anything similar?

**** FIXED *** in case anyone else runs into this issue here is what i did that fixed it… updated to latest bios… disabled onboard audio and bluetooth and enabled 4g decoding… now i can see all 5 cards in Hive OS… now i wish i could actually mine using the 3060… seems unfair to pay for an entire card and only be able to utilize half its potential… dont think nvidia was right by doing what they did. . anyway hopefully there will be a light at the end of the tunnel for us 3060 GPU miners soon! cmon hive os devs you can do it!

U need to buy one more Psu to run this cards… (with safety) …and balance your wattage between the two psu…
Make sure to do the connections to risers with 6 pin (not sata or molex)!!!

yes great point i threw out all those molex to sata connectors already… very misleading to provide those with the riser cards… fire waiting to happen… however im curious as to why you think i need another power supply? ive always practiced using less than 80% of the total power supply wattage… so with the five cards all running im only pulling about 575 Watts and 80% of the power would be 675 watts… but yea im for sure getting pretty close to power limit

your wattage its from software or power meter at the wall?

ahhh good point… that is the power on the software… im guessing probably another 100 or so for the system? i will check… i have a plug that tells me wattage and ill get back to you

The psu its the first hardware to put the money in to it… it protect your cards to do their work 24x7 !!!

In order to understand better your possible PSU problem, what seems to be the case, I recommend you to take a look at:

Power Supply Calculator

no it wasn’t the PSU i actually figured it out thanks though . it was a setting on the Mo/Bo in bios

Tell us what settings it was… this is a solution to the community if another one has the same problem…

i appreciate your concern… however im guessing you did not read my entire first post?

Your edit one no …
Greetings!

4 cards mining in software = 460 watts… at the wall = 560 watts… so my system takes about 100 watts to run apparently lol
