Mining rig won't boot

I have a mining rig that I have used seasonally for the last couple of years. I shut it off in the spring/summer months but turned it on in the fall/winter months to use as a heater. I have had no issues previously, but when I turned it on for the first time since spring, it won’t boot. A few things I’ve already tried that haven’t fixed it yet:

  • Reseated the CPU and applied new thermal paste
  • swapped and tested the RAM, power supply and GPU’s so I don’t believe those are the issue
  • reset CMOS

Based on what I’ve done so far I think it may be something related to the motherboard, which is an Asus z270-p but I don’t believe anything appears to be damaged and when I turn the power switch on from the power supply yellow lights come on on the motherboard but CPU fan doesn’t kick in or nothing else happens.

Any help or tips would be greatly appreciated thanks!

Are you sure youre shorting the correct pins? Do have another motherboard to test psu with?

Sorry for the delayed response. Ya I’m pretty sure I shorted the right pins cause I read the manual. I don’t have another motherboard to test the psu with but I have tested multiple psu’s with this same board

I also just tested the 24-pin motherboard cable by using a different one and it’s the same result so I don’t think it’s that either
