I’ve recently added 2 GPUs to my x12 rig. I am running different cards on Hive OS and t-rex. Everything seemed to be working fine, then after an hour everything stopped mining. I did a reset and the same occured. I did an update to Hive OS and to t rex. Same issues. Now it is showing on the LED screen on the rig that its hashing but I am not getting anything on Hive OS. Can someone help?
I ran into the same issue after adding a 5th 3080 FE to my x12 rig. Seems the rigs get a little touchy after 4 GPUs. I saw the same messages you did - LA spikes, GPU driver errors, etc.
Here’s what I did, fwiw:
- I had updated to the latest NVIDIA drivers. I rolled back to 470.74.
- I had the force P0 setting enabled. I turned that off.
- I was running my 3080s at 1100 core / 2700 mem and getting 101.8 Mh/s. I set the mem to 2600 and only lost 0.2 Mh/s per card.
- I increased the LA threshold to 10 before reboot. Since my rig only has 4 CPU cores total, anything above 4 LA is not expected with ethash.
It took a few reboots before the rig recovered and now I’m good. Maybe try one or all of the above? I’d try the driver rollback first, if that applies to you.
By the way, if you are using absolute core, you don’t need PL settings. Absolute core takes care of power limiting. With my 3080s, running 1100 absolute core gives me wattages between 215 and 225 without a separate PL.
Might want to upgrade to the #140 Kernel first and it does have later nVidia drivers as well:
