I'm not looking for an overclock. Can you help me?

Hello everyone
I’m looking for info or guide on the principles of overclocking. I don’t want to just copy an OC from some expert user (of course I don’t rule it out) What I’m looking for is to learn to try to understand why, for example, for the same gpu (I already have 1 rtx 2060 and one rtx 3070 lhr) there are different templates, some have positive and negative values for core for example and I saw in some few cases, negative values in memory.

Please could you guide me where to read about this?

In the hiveos forum I was reading the explanation for nvidia or amd but it is very limited.
On the other hand in my searches here, I haven’t found out if an OC for 3070 is the same whether it is lhr or not.
In the popular presets table on hiveos it doesn’t discriminate as such. Thanks!
