I’ve installed amd drivers on Ubuntu 17.10 so I presume this should just be the same way… Stop the miner and then use the hive OS built in terminal to install?
Except the last time I tried to install the amd gpu pro drivers I think I got dpkg failed or something along those lines
the hiveos version 5.59 dosn’t stop miner, if you have this version. mybe because of that you get fail. read readme file too, under /hive-drivers-pack
Please let me know if you’ve got it to work, i’ve tried the rocm drivers but it fails. I’ve got 6 vegas on risers and really do wish to get it to work on hive.
alright i will be sure you update this post if i get this working… i just wish hive would update with official support without having to do this would make things much easier…
I managed to get it to work on a fresh HiveOS setup, uninstall the amd-gpu drivers using “amdgpu-pro-uninstall” then follow this guide https://rocm.github.io/ROCmInstall.html.
This loads one Vega card, but it get all other cards loaded in serial, use this command before your miner start “HSA_ENABLE_SDMA=0”.
for example in my case it was:
HSA_ENABLE_SDMA=0 /hive/tdxminer.....
I however ended up reverting back to windows as i found i could not change the Power Play tables efficiently enough (yet) to get my usage down.

i just hate dealing with getting windows 10 to find 8 vega cards… its such a pain

where exactly do you add the HSA_ENABLE_SDMA=0 line? Is that done through the wallet or are you adding this somewhere else?

if you’re using custom miner, just modify the h-run.sh file and add it in front of the miner path.
thanks. otherwise I figured out just in the command line. still wasn’t able to get the Vegas mining - they are seen by Hive but they don’t mine.

did you find some way, how to manipulate power consumption with tdxminer?
It is possible to run tdxminer on 16.04 but not possible to change clock and voltage.
It is possible to run pp tabless and open cl with tdxminer and xmr stak but with different kernel and patched driver.
I tryed few times but I am not good enough in Linux. It’s definitely possible.

Ребзя, нашлось решение по вегам ? А то у меня в миксованом риге, с 470 , 580 , парой Nvidia стоят еще две Веги и гуляют, в майнере видно но по хешрейту 0
ставьте драйвера rocm 1.8.2 там уже убрано требование по х16 слоту и Gen3

я поставил ethos с вегами. И снес через 30 минут.
Веги конечно майнят проблем нет.
Но каждая вега на монеро дает 1000хешей на claymore или xmr-stak, а это полная дрянь.
То есть, нет никакого толку от поддержки вег, если нет нормальное под них майнера.
Снес, поставил виду поставил нормальный майнер, где дает 1800-1900 хешей и майнит.
Такие результаты и на Hive получали НЯЗ.
Я собрался собрать себе 4 фермы по 8 или 12 карт, как пойдет на тестовом стенде, то и будет.
Кто уже делал на хиве 2,0 на вегах 56 подскажите по сравнению с 570/470 какая будет разница по установки (у меня риги по 12 карт на Asus B250 rev.1.2 сейчас на хиве пашут более 6 месяцев без проблем) и что делать сразу надо в настройках биоса если на вегах делать?
Если есть люди с эмпирическими знаниями прошу откликнуться по данному вопросу? Больше всего интересно на 12 карт собрать и я это сделаю, но не хочется шишки набивать на тех вопросах, которые уже известны и протестированы руками на хиве 2,0, а не по youtube.
Веги работает на своем образе и вполне неплохо. Все остальное в плане обновлений, управления как обычно.
