Dual Epyc 7551 but only mining on 1 cpu

Hey guys,

I’m new to Hive and I’m having some trouble getting both AMD 7551 cpus to mine at the same time. Whenever I boot it up it says 64/64 threads but there are 128 of them. Only 64 threads show up on the flight sheet monitor. It looks like it sees all 128 as per number 128 after the cpu but only getting 33kh (exactly half of what is expected) I feel there is heat only coming off 1 cpu in the rig. Did I set something up wrong, can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks

Randomx requires 2mb of cache per thread. Your cpus have 64mb each. You’re right where you should be for hashrate. RandomX Benchmark - XMRig

is there anything better I could be mining?

Can try some ghostrider algo coins

Hello, i am looking to get two 7551 Epyc server CPUs too, but i was wondering whats the difference between a randomx (xmr) algo and a ghostrider algo? what are the differences and what are some pros? Thanks!

ghostrider is actually ~20 algos in one package that rotate, so hashrates vary depending on the algo and its important to pay attention to the 24hr average hashrate, not the current there. randomx benefits from lower latency memory and multiple memory channels, ghostrider doesn’t care too much.

7551 isn’t a popular cpu for mining as they get similar hashrates to modern ryzen 9s and are about the same total system cost, but much less efficent. i would look at the higher core count gen 2 instead as a starting point.
