Can't add more than 6 gpu to MB

Motherboard: B85M-G43 (MS-7823) MSI (V3.9 03/30/2015)

CPU: 8 × Intel(R) Core™ i7-4790 CPU @ 3.60GHz AES
(I don’t know why HiveOs report “8 x”)

I have now 5 x 3080 ti and 1 x 3060 ti on this MB using one 1-4 PCIe card. MB has 4 PCIe slots. CPU should be able to hanle 16 PCIe channels. Using 6 GPUs now, and have one available full 16 slot PCIe. But when I connect a GPU to it, screen flickers with all kinds of colors and I it won’t go to BIOS screen or anything else.

No newer bios available.

Anyone have a clue what is going on here? I suspect that the 7th GPU is interferring with the PCIe channel that the inboard GPU use that my monitor is hooked up on to. Monitor is connected to mb.

Some boards just don’t work with a high number of cards, that’s why the mining specific boards exist. Id recommend getting a newer board that’s known to work with as many gpus as you want to run
