Can I update GPU drivers manually?

I mean download from AMD and Nvidia, and install them according to manuals from these sites?

I am too lazy write hive’s image to disk again

1. Yes it possible
2. Look at /hive-drivers-pack dir for short README file
3. AFAIK at this forum also has how-to to do this
4. AMD drivers 17.50 nothing intrasting at all
5. NVidia drivers 390.25 for new chip revision may help
6. hashrates changes not detected

i just re-wrote new image to usb in order to get 390.25 driver and it’s still at old 387.34. how do i get new drivers? /hive-drivers-pack does not contain 390.25. btw there is no how-to on this. As far as is shown on here only new image distros contain new drivers yet that didn’t work. what am i doing wrong? I’m not going to rewrite image anytime soon. since i had to dl and install wifi driver everytime. too much lost mining time.
