Advice for 6800, 6800xt and 6900 xt OC settings

You are behind on Kernel which added some benefits for your 6800s, but might actually complicate your 6800XT efforts. See posts by user oni running a non-XT/XT rig like yours on latest.

In my opinion, you can be getting more out of the 6800’s on new kernel with your level of wattage. But the XT complication is one to navigate.

True.
For my mixed XT/non-XT rig I had more hashrate from an old version + F state script than now on new version with F state solved for non-XT’s. The XT’s hash less fast.
But the new version uses less Wattage so that’s an advantage. Not verified at the wall though…
Too lazy to change back for now. Other priorities.

So i finnally got somewhat stable. After i updated the kernel i was able to apply an OC to the 6800 cards. With the following results:

But as soon i set an OC to one of the XT cards it just goes south. Some cards drop to 30Mh/s immediatly, doesn’t matter if i use NBminer, TRM or lolminer.

I will continue to research and post my findings with this issue.

I set my XT’s at lower mem, 1050.
If I set them like my non-XT’s they’ll crash too.
They can handle higher mem too, but with higher voltages than the non-XT’s.
Will investigate further when the XT issue gets solved.

I upgraded from the dashboard but it seems kernel and amd drivers were skipped. What’s the procedure to upgrade them ?

I have 6600, 6700XT and 6800.

Go to command line and type
hive-replace -y --list
And next pick the version you want by typing the appropriate number.
Please note that your password will also be overwritten so you’ll need to set that again.

My power usage dropped 10W with the same hash-rate…Nowhere as low as yours but I am happy that it reduced.
I will monitor it for stability and give feedback over the next few days.

The 6800XTs and IIRC all of the 6800/6900 cards are memory speed limited in the bios to 1075. I just put mine at 1074 cause it got a little wonky at 1075. Phoenix miner is giving me the best overall hashrate/shares. Also my card’s core clock has to be adjusted depending on which miner I use, seems like some hit the core more than others.

I seem to be getting the best result from Gminer. Phoenix Miner was quite fickle and sensitive to OC settings. By comparison it had far more crashes.
