92MH/s 205W - BTC 37 S37 - MSI GTX 1660 Super Gaming X / ASUS DUAL GTX 1660 SUPER EVO OC / XFX RX 480 8GB GTR Black Edition

Hi All,

Just thought I’d share my setup as when I used the most popular OC setup my reported speed tended to sway between 25MH/s<29MHs and Watt between 70W<80W.

My current setup below is now reporting 92MH/s <205W (3 x >30MH/s @ <71W) and I need to run it for at least a few days to see what stable average I get which I will post and share in a few days.

I’m sure we are all aware that even if we purchased the same exact card there could be some small variation in finding that sweet spot in OC settings and to get a good balance between MHs and Watts is important (unless you have free electricity).

These numbers worked well for me but might not work for you or It could exceed the numbers I’m seeing who know but worth a try if you are struggling to get >30MH/s.

When I first decided to build my rig I narrowed it down to 1660 Super 8GB and the RX 480 8GB.
After buying from FB market place and I think I got very lucky in terms of the sub model. I didn’t realise 1660 super has 98 different variations.

I also got lucky with the RX480 8GB as I don’t think the seller knew that the GTR Black Edition model is one of the top end specs and picked it up for a steal. The bios on this model can be changed to the RX 580 8GB but I didn’t want to take the risk in case I bricked it. I spent a few days tweaking and to be fair I was happy with >30MH/s with around 71W.

If you are running 1660 Super 8GB / RX 480 8GB let me know if these numbers helped you in any way.

Happy Mining All.

I think the rx 480 can work with VDD 850. Which will further reduce heat and watts. Also the supes can do maybe 1100 core clock. Have you tested this? I see also you get quite different temps between the two supes, also rx 480 a bit high. Maybe you are up for change in thermal paste.
