I’m aware that there is risk, but I also wanted to know if anyone actually tried to force update to model other than GTX 1660 SUPER GAMING X. I have several MSI GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER AERO ITX OC, and still unsure I should try or not.
@iveq and @jedi - can i get some more information please on your cards? Are they 1660 Super single ? Or Dual? What is your serial for Hynix ram? Are these the OC edition?

Anyone know what’s changed in the BIOS’s?
I’d like to mod my Gigabyte 1660 Supers with Hynix
I can confirm that Palit bios works on Zotac Twin Fan and Pny Dual Fan models without any problem on Windows.
Absolute core 1080 Memory +1300 brings me ~36.3 MH/s and power consumption is 88W.

Question is, has anyone flashed any bios in HiveOS successfuly?
I tried on MSI Ventus,
old bios is this 90.16.4F.40.1D, 31.75 MH
flashed with NVflash in widnows
new bios is now 90.164F.40.A9, but I can only get 33.32 stable. the OC is not actuually applied. the OC will work for a few minute and the zero fan speed erro occur, and the clock is set to a set number, and it gives 33.32 mh. When OC is working, it gives around 35mh. I am still trying to wrap my head around this.

I tried to flash in hiveOS and it will get error,
trid both msi version and palik version on PNY card, MSI card and ASUS card in hiveOS, all failed.
So you need to do the firmware using nvflash on windows with a key -6
